Reiki has so many possible uses that it's almost impossible to begin to suggest them all here. However, I'll list below some of the more popular and/or common uses for Reiki besides just the personal, human treatment.
Gift Certificate

Animals
Pets: Reiki can greatly benefit pets, just as it does humans. When my own dog was run over by a van and his hindquarters were injured and bruised, he came home from the vet's office very weak and unable to stand or do anything as normal. I treated him with Reiki and within two days he was outside chasing squirrels again, and within a month he was completely healed and back to normal. Animals suffer from a variety of maladies just as humans do, and seem to respond to Reiki treatment even faster than humans do.
Household
Houses can collect negative and sour energies over time, with the variety of people who move in and out of them in the course of a lifetime. Treating a building with Reiki clears the stale, old energies out and charges the building with fresh, clean Reiki energy. It's good practise to use Reiki on any building you are just moving into, or where negative or very strong emotional events have taken place.
Objects
If you're a thrift-store or garage-sale afficionado, you pick up strange energies along with your 'new' purchases. Reiki can be used to effectively clean and refresh the energies held by and surrounding these items, so they really are like new to you.
Gifts
A wonderful way to say 'I really love you' is to use Reiki to positively clean and charge any gifts you give to your loved ones. As with objects that were previously owned by someone else, items that have been sitting in a public store have collected negative energies from the people who have handled them while in the store. Reiki can ensure that the gifts you're giving truly are new and fresh for your loved ones.
Medicine
Medicines, as everyone knows, often have negative side-effects that come right alongside their positive effects, when taken internally. Doing Reiki on your medications can help minimise the negative side-effects you might experience while the Reiki also helps to maximise the medicine's positive effects. It's just a great insurance that you're getting the most out of the medications you have to ingest.
Food
Foods, when cooked - especially if they're microwaved - tend to lose at least some of their nutrative value. Doing Reiki on your foods helps to maximise the foods' nutritional value after cooking. Although this may not be a very practical application if you're not a Reiki practitioner yourself, it's something to consider for times when you're very ill and more likely to need that type of support for a short period of time, or for food that will be injested by many at a large gathering - a wedding feast, for instance.
